A Marvellous 22ct Gold Full Shield Back Sovereign. The Shield Back refers to the Design shown on the Reverse side of the Coin,instead of the Traditional image of St. George slaying a Dragon, a Shield designed by Jean Baptise Merlen can be seen displaying the Monarchs Coat of Arms. The Obverse side of the Coin features the Young Head of Queen Victoria. Minted and Issued in London 1868.
